The course is a requirement for all entering students whose test scores reflect a need for further development of writing skills to prepare for college success. Updated cut-off scores are in the Placement Information Table in the RMCC catalog. Students will concurrently enroll in Intensive Writing Lab I for individualized lab work to supplement their instruction in class. A student who successfully completes Basic English I (ENG 013) with a ?C? or better will enroll next in Basic English II (ENG 023). 2. A student who successful completes Basic English II (ENG 023) with a ?C? or better will enroll next in English Composition I (ENG 113) 3. Any student who successfully completes Basic English I (ENG 013) may have one attempt at the COMPASS test to be exempted from Basic English II (ENG 023). The student must make the appropriate cut-off score for English Composition I (ENG 013) as indicated by the Placement Information Table in the RMCC catalog on page 24.
