This course is designed to introduce the student to the major systems, components, and theories of operation of modern day electrical power generation technology and facilities. Emphasis is placed on instrumentation, piping, and valving. Pre-requisites/Co-requisites: PWRT 1003 and PWRT 1013 (3,0,3)

The student will be introduced to the various respiratory disease processes and their clinical manifestations through basic laboratory tests, respiratory testing, and patient symptoms. ( 2,0,2)

This course is designed to build a solid understanding in the foundations of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and microbiology. This course will also introduce the student to the concepts and calculations found in respiratory care practice. Co-requisite: MATH 1033 Intermediate Algebra (3,0,3)

This course will provide the student with the understanding of the derivatives of drugs, calculations of dosages, the terminology utilized, and an introduction into drugs encountered in respiratory practice. ( 2,0,2)

This course is designed to familiarize the student with a comprehensive understanding of the equipment utilized in respiratory care. (3,4,4)

This course will acquaint the student with a basic knowledge of assessment skills including chart auditing, and a basic understanding of various values and their relevance to the patient's care. (3,0,3)

Content covers medical ethics, departmental organization, professional organizations, infection control/blood and secretion borne pathogens and basic skill lab performance. The course will also be an orientation to respiratory care at area hospitals. ( 3,28,3)

This course is a continuation of RESP 1904 and includes 350 hours of clinical practicum at area hospitals. (5,28,5)
