This course is a workshop setting which includes sentence structure and paragraph development. Grammar usage and mechanics are addressed within the context of writing. Students are required to complete assigned work outside of class in the PLATO writing program. Students scoring 11 or less on the ACT, 34 or less on the ASSET, or 19 or less on the COMPASS must enroll in this course. A grade of 80% or better is required in order to pass. A grade of "C"or below indicates progress, not passing. (3,0,3)

This course is a lecture course with an intensive study of the process of writing five paragraph, three point essays. Grammar is addressed within the context of writing. Students are required to complete assigned work outside of the class in the PLATO writing program. Students scoring 12-18 on the ACT, 35- 44 on the ASSET, or 20-74 on the COMPASS (or have passed ENGL 0043) must enroll in this course. A grade of 70% or better in the course or a score of 75 or better on the COMPASS is required to pass to ENGL 1013. Students achieving a 75 or higher on the COMPASS pretest will be required to either advance to ENGL 1013 or attend and successfully complete the requirements for ENGL 0053. This course does not count toward an Associate's Degree. (3,0,3)

This computerized, teacher-assisted course covers major comprehension skills with an emphasis on vocabulary. Students scoring 18 or less on the ACT, 41 or less on the ASSET, or 81 or less on the COMPASS must enroll in this course. A grade of "C" or belowindicates progress, not passing ( 3, 0, 3)

Introduction to basic principles of pest management as they relate to vertebrate animals, insects, plant disease, and weeds. Selected pests are studied with emphasis on current management approaches and alternative pest control. Prerequisite: ANSC 1003. (3,0,3)
