The course, which is used to address systematic observations, includes documentation and other effective assessment strategies in a developmentally appropriate way as well as the goals, benefits, and uses of assessment. Also included: rationale for, and ways to, develop partnerships with families and other professionals to positively influence children's development. Assignments include an activities notebook and the development of a methods and materials file for inclusion in a professional portfolio.
