A study of the biblical and theological foundations of music and its role in worship from the Old Testament to the contemporary with emphasis on formation of a comprehensive philosophy of church music. Attention will be given to musical worship practices throughout church history, implementation of music within diverse styles and settings, and examination of liturgies from many denominations and movements.
