Solo-ensemble performance specializing in early and contemporary music. Required attendance at rehearsals and performances.

A non-auditioned choir for tenor and bass voices. Classical and popular music are included in the repertoire. Required attendance at rehearsals and performances.

A non-auditioned choir for soprano and alto ranges. Classical, folk, and popular music are the components of this repertoire. Required attendance at rehearsals and performances.

Discussion, evaluation and performance of literature available for selected small ensembles. Piano trios, quartets, quintets, string quartets, woodwind, brass, 246 percussion and vocal ensembles. Prerequisite: Approval of instructor.

Open to all students by audition with the director. Provides the participant with opportunities to perform a wide variety of jazz styles in varied settings. Required attendance at rehearsals and performances.

Three-semester sequence for students enrolled in music technology majors and minors. Students will create individual projects in MIDI, sound creation and editing, and multimedia. Prerequisite: MU 306 and permission of instructor.

1.50 - 3.00 Credits
The Senior Recital represents the final semester of studio instruction on the primary instrument for all music majors except those pursuing the performance emphasis, who typically perform this recital as juniors. The recital must include a minimum of 244 30 minutes of music. The student must pass a recital jury at least two weeks before the scheduled recital performance. Prerequisites: Departmental permission plus one of the following: MUA 411, 421, 431, 441, 451, 461, 471, or 481. Studio instruction fee: $90.

For music majors pursuing the performance emphasis only. The Performance Emphasis Recital represents the final semester of studio instruction on the primary instrument for music majors pursuing the performance emphasis. The recital must include a minimum of 60 minutes of music. The student must pass a recital jury at least two weeks before the scheduled recital performance. Prerequisites: Departmental Permission, MUA 498, and two semesters of one of the following: MUA 411, 421, 431, 441, 451, 461, 471, 481. Studio instruction fee: $90.

In this course, music education students will observe band or choral programs outside their primary area: choral students in an instrumental program and instrumental students in a choral program. The student will observe and assist the band or choir director, gaining an experience in working with ensembles outside the student's primary area. Prerequisites: MU 325. Offered upon demand.
