This course will provide the student with knowledge of rubber processing tooling design and fabrication. Designs for extrusion dies, compression, transfer and injection molds, plus trim and deflash tooling will be reviewed. Tooling for rubber products will be designed. They will become familiar with material selection for best machining time, optimum tool life and accuracy. Instruction on the correct and safe operation of machine tools used for the fabrication of rubber process tooling will be given. Pre- Requisites: RUBR 121 and ETEC 140. Typically Offered Fall Only
