Various methods of binding, including folding, cutting, mechanical and perfect binding, padding, and shrink wrapping will be discussed and practiced in the printing laboratory. Issues of resolution, gray levels, printing characteristics and halftone screening are emphasized. This laboratory and lecture course is designed to introduce the student to imposition and digital image assembly processes. Primary emphasis of the course is to teach students a variety of strategies for laying out the press sheet for printing.
