Students will dispense prescriptions with the use of computer systems; scrutinize written orders and final products; practice pharmaceutical care; understand the importance of continuous quality improvement. Emphasis will be placed on effective communication skills, eliminating noncompliance, evaluating patient information, and methods of distributing patient information. Pre-Requisites: PHPR 303. Students also have periodic encounters with acutely ill patients. Students learn to assess drug therapy problems and develop pharmaceutical care plans. Co-Requisites: PHPR 521, PHPR 522 AND PHAD 502.
