HSP 421H: Honors Thesis

Directed independent study leading to the submission of an Honors Thesis. Normally, students begin theor thesis re- search in the second semester of their junior year by en- rolling for 1/2 unit of Honors Thesis credit with their thesis adviser. This process continues during the student's senior year when they normally take another one to two units of Honors Thesis credit in order to complete their research and write up their results. In the semesters they enroll for Honors Thesis credit, Honors students may take up to five units (where 1/2 unit is for thesis credit) without add- itional tution charge.

Directed independent study leading to the submission of an Honors Thesis. The thesis topic is selected in consultation with a three-member faculty committee headed by a thesis adviser no later than the end of the student's sixth semester. Normally students begin research for their thesis in the second semester of their junior year by enrolling for 1/2 unit of Honors Thesis credit under the direction of their thesis adviser. This process then continues during the students' senior year when they take another one to two units of Honors Thesis credit in order to complete their research and write up the results. Because they are expected to register for Honors Thesis credit, honors juniors and seniors may take up to five units per semester (where 1/2 unit is for thesis credit) without additional tuition charge.
