3 hours lecture Prerequisites: EGR 242 The mechanics of fluids, fluid properties, fluid statics. Kinematics and dynamics of flow fields are developed. Dimensional analysis, metering, laminar and turbulent flows will also be discussed. Emphasis is placed on energy equations with applications to closed conduit and open channel flow problems. Boundary layer concepts and drag and lift forces on submerged bodies are also considered.
