Students will explore, experientially and theoretically, historical and contemporary theories of supervising, managing, leading, and motivating people in organizational contexts. The trans-Atlantic slave trade and slavery in the Americas from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century. Emphasis is placed on the beginning and development of the trans-Atlantic slave trade; moral issues, economics, and tactics of the trade; and comparisons of the slave societies of Brazil, the Caribbean, and the United States.
