Areas of care include family as client; assessment of communities and target groups; care of older clients; care of the homeless; care of children in school; substance abuse; and violence. Helps students define the role of the community health nurse as a primary-care provider, case manager, deliverer of nursing care, coordinator of care, collaborator, liaison between agencies, and user of nursing research.
