    This course is designed for singers and for actors who wish to go beyond the practical techniques of singing and concentrate on performance. Emphasis will be placed on acting the lyric more than on vocalizing. Students will refine their interpretive skills in a variety of performance situations while working with other students and with actors from the local theater community. Participants will gain confidence performing for their classmates and eventually for a larger invited audience of local actors, directors and producers from the local theater community. Prerequisite: THR103 / 3 credits.

    This course is intended for the intermediate actor to learn the specific acting and career management skills required to pursue professional work in film and television. Students will develop refined audition techniques for soap operas and all forms of television commercials. Students will learn about the business concepts and self-marketing skills used by performers in film and television, focusing on how actors fit into this market place and how to enhance their own unique talents as saleable qualities. Prerequisite: THR103 / 3 credits.
