Oppression and social justice are central themes of this course. The practice of social work is considered from the perspective of a collaborative strengths-based model working with complex social service systems. The course familiarizes students with various roles, functions, and tasks which social workers perform in a variety of settings, and acquaints students with the primary skills and practices of professional social work.
