This course is designed to introduce students to the basic mechanisms of evolution, including adaptive and neutral processes. Evolution will be examined at scales ranging from molecular to ecological, and in populations over a few generations to over millennia. Emphasis will be placed on connections of evolution to molecular, developmental, and behavioral biology, physiology, genetics, ecology and environmental science. Prerequisite: BIOL 2020.
