Introduction to professional nursing within the health care system. Nursing process, critical thinking, communication, and teachinglearning processes of nursing are introduced. Prerequisite: Must meet eligibility requirements for application to clinical nursing courses including completion of the first three semesters of the B.S.N. curriculum pattern, 2.7 GPA in courses required for the B.S.N. degree or consent of the Dean of the College of Nursing. Enrollment in this course does not guarantee enrollment in clinical nursing courses.

Supervised performance of basic nursing activities in health care settings. The focus of care is the individual. Clinical practice is planned to provide students with opportunities to apply the nursing process, communication skills, and psychomotor skills to perform basic nursing activities. Prerequisite: Completion of the first three semesters of the B.S.N. curriculum, admission to B.S.N. clinical component or consent of the Dean of the College of Nursing.
