(3) The course outlines the fundamental and advanced features of criminal investigation, including the duties and responsibilities of the detective and the use of knowledge from the natural and social sciences as applied to person and property crimes. Requisites: PR, JUS 101.

(3) Social Jjustice: Action and Policy examines public policy decisions from the perspective of social and economic justice. Historical and contemporary implications relative to justice will be analyzed. Requisites: PR, JUS 101.

(3) A survey of approaches, both theoretical and applied, to juvenile delinquency. Special emphasis given to causes and effects of delinquency. Practical components include the examination of criminal justice systems and the related careers available in the juvenile delinquency field. Requisites: PR, SOC 140.

(3) The course will explore the historical and philosophical foundations of terrorism as defined through typologies and motivations associated with such criminal acts and behaviors. Requisites: PR, JUS 101.

(3) The course explores all aspects of the multi-faceted field of behavioral evidence analysis, commonly referred to as criminal profiling. Emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary and forensic use of knowledge from the medical and social sciences. Requisites: PR, JUS 101.

(1-6) These courses are meant to provide the student with knowledge related to a subject not normally covered in the justice studies curriculum. Requisites: PR, JUS 101, JUS 200, JUS 331.

(3) The course examines the historical, theoretical, methodological, and practical aspects and applications of the victim's role in the justice system and the demand for victim advocacy. Requisites: PR, JUS 101.

(3) The course will explore the patterns and behaviors of sexual deviancy and the investigative practices, issues of victimology, and victim-assistance procedures relative to sex crimes. Requisites: PR, JUS 101.

(3) The capstone seminar provides for the analysis, evaluation, and summation of the justice studies issues of importance to the student. Theory and research evaluation will be of particular attention. This course will provide a socratic forum for the discussion of knowledge acquired in the core curriculum and related course work. It is designed to be integrative and analytically critical of the student's previous learning experiences. Requisites: PR, JUS 101, JUS 200, JUS 250, JUS 300, JUS 320, JUS 331, JUS 341, JUS 365, JUS 380.

(1-3) This experience involves a minimum of 150 contact hours in a position that affords the student the opportunity to learn practical applications in a law enforcement, correctional, or court services type of setting. Requisites: PR, PERM.
