This course explores the concepts, issues, and theories that point to change and continuity in the field of marriage and family. Cultural diversity and gender-inclusive issues, will point students toward realistic marriage and family experiences. A sociological emphasis will investigate how success in marriage is more related to "being" the right partner than to "finding" the right partner. The course will examine marital adjustment, marital conflict and will define the psychological nature of sexual intimacy.
