Co-requisite: RT112, RT113, RT212, RT213 (Radio On-Air Performance Critique I, II, III, IV). If students are not a broadcast major, instructor permission is required. Radio students perform live in the state of the art KTCC radio studios to develop on-air skills. Students will perform a three-hour shift at least twice per week. (Offered every semester)

Co-requisite: RT252, RT253 (Television On-Air Performance Critique III, IV). Students have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of live television news production. Students will staff two live newscasts per week on the college cable television station filling all positions for the production, both in front of and behind the camera. Television majors should take Television On-Air Performance III, IV in the sophomore year of their two-year degree program. Over that period the student will be required to participate in all areas of news production. (Offered every semester)

Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor, Arts and Industry Chair, and Dean of Instruction, along with a signed contract. This course is designed for advanced, highly motivated, students who need a flexible environment for the creation of major projects. The student designs and plans the project from beginning to end before enrolling. Once enrolled the student will work independently, with the instructor providing advice and guidance. The student must sign a contract outlining details of the project and the times and places work will take place. During the project the student must keep an accurate record of the time spent working on the project, which will be turned in at the same time as the project. (Offered every semester)

This course is designed to aid students in developing specific academic and career goals. Career interest areas are determined through vocational interest inventories and small group discussion. Resume preparation, writing letters of application and job interview techniques are also covered in the workshop.
