This program is designed for those individuals interested in providing and/or coordinating approved single program provider continuing EMS education programs in the State of Kansas. It will provide the participant with opportunities to gain information and practice as a Training Officer I in the State of Kansas. Prerequisite: currently certified at or above the EMT level or as a physician licensed to practice medicine and surgery or licensed professional nurse. Local appointing authority must appoint the candidate.

The EMT-D certification will enhance patient care in predominantly rural areas as well as provide EMT"s with an opportunity for personal advancement. This course is taught in conjunction with the advanced practical skills section for EMT-D training.
