Topics include, but are not limited to, cellular structure, physiology, reproduction, genetics and development. Lecture, discussion and laboratory settings provide the student with a maximum opportunity for learning. 3 hours lecture; 3 hours laboratory. BIO311 (4 hours) Conservation Ecology Prerequisite: BIOor GLY100-200 level class. This course integrates lecture and field observations to bring the regional ecological and conservation issue together. Field trips to natural, disturbed and threatened areas will show the role of man in the degradation and restoration of the environment. 3 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory. BIO261-262 (4 hours) Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II Prerequisite: Good academic standing in college level courses; Enrollment in BIO262 depends upon successful completion of BIO261. Asurvey of human anatomy and physiology sequence designed to meet the needs of the allied health student. Anatomy, physiology and biochemistry are taught concurrently to enable the student to grasp the interrelated complexities of all three areas. Laboratory features dissection of the cat and other specimens as required, plus a broad sampling of physiological principles using modern laboratory equipment. 3 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory per week.
