This course applies the study of color and composition to the creation of paintings in water-based acrylic paint. We will learn how to manipulate the paint to create a variety of expressive surfaces. Materials needed: Acrylic paints (cadmium red, cadmium yellow, ivory black, ultramarine blue, and titanium white), pencils, 1 canvas board, 4 canvas papers, plastic cups (for water), small and medium brushes, and old rags.

    CREDITS: .10 This course is designed to introduce you to Photoshop and its use in manipulating photographs. You will gain the knowledge of working with the computer, photo manipulation software, and multiple scanning techniques. You will gain the knowledge to begin using your creative ability by using the computer to explore new ideas and methods of altering photographs, or drawings, making new images by using filtering, and colorizing techniques, take digital photos or scanned images and make creative adjustments. Edited photos could be used on emails, websites, or printed projects. We will have discussions on the images created in this class.
