Prerequisite: SCT 100, CIS 103, CIS 122 Prepares students to work in positions that provide customer and technical support through analysis and problem solving. Students will master the role of a help desk analysis, navigate the help desk environment, and learn crucial problem solving skills. In addition, students will learn to troubleshoot hardware problems, printer problems, OS problems, application problems, and user problems.

Prerequisite: CIS 106 or advisor approval Introduces networking technologies and prepares students to pass CompTIA's broadbased, vendor independent networking certification exam, Network +. Covers a wide range of material about networking, from careers in networking to local area networks, wide area networks, protocols, topologies, transmission media, and security. Focuses on operation network management systems and implementing the installation of networks. It reviews cabling; connection schemes; the fundamentals of both the LAN and WAN technologies; TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting; remote connectivity; and network maintenance and troubleshooting.

Prerequisite: CIS 103, CIS 122, CIS 108 Provides a study of computer forensics techniques that will teach the techniques needed to harvest, identify, and analyze data while maintaining the legal and ethical standards needed to produce evidence that is admissible in court. Topics include: computer forensics, ethical practices, sterile media, computer forensic tools, evidence collection, evidence analysis, and documentation.

Prerequisite: CIS xxxx An Operating Systems Course Provides an introduction to the fundamentals of installing and maintaining microcomputers. Topics include: identifying components and their functions; safety; installation procedures; troubleshooting techniques; and preventive maintenance.

Prerequisite: CIS 108 A capstone course project providing a realistic experience for students working in an environment to locate evidence of a crime within a computer system and prepare it for presentation at a trial or legal proceeding. Topics include: search warrants and chain/control of evidence, operating system tools and techniques, data recovery and safeguard, and presentation for trial/legal proceeding.

Prerequisite: SCT 100 and ENG as required by program major Provides a study of word processing and desktop publishing. Topics include: word processing fundamentals; desktop publishing fundamentals; advanced word processing concepts; development of macros; and presentation graphics fundamentals.

Prerequisite: Provisional admission Provides students with the interface concepts of Microsoft Windows software and the opportunity to develop software application skills in a wide range of business situations. Topics include: Getting started with Microsoft Windows; managing programs and files with Microsoft Windows; using Microsoft Windows WordPad and Paintbrush features; data transfer with Microsoft Windows; printing with Microsoft Windows; and customizing with Microsoft Windows.

Topics covered include curves and adjustment layers, retouching techniques, color correction, color balancing, element replacement and restoration, typography and interpolation, and advanced techniques and special effects.

Prerequisites:CIS 1123 This course covers additional techniques used in the creation and manipulation of vector images and animation using Adobe Flash. Topics covered include (but not limited to) Advanced Animation Techniques, ActionScript Fundamentals, Advanced ActionScript Techniques, Third Party Languages, Optimizing and Publishing Flash movies.
