The seminar emphasizes the processes "behind" socio- logical scholarship in order to enhance student's under- standing of how sociological research and writing is produced and to help students develop their reasoning, writing, and speaking skills. Students wil be introduced to the graduate school environment, the university's re- search environment, and the profession of sociology.
