This course explores the concepts of trauma treatment and introduces evidence-based interventions for treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other trauma-related disorders. Content includes the nervous system, trauma-related disorder diagnosis, and secondary traumatic stress. Students will gain beginning competency in engaging, assessing, intervening, and evaluating clients across the lifespan with PTSD. Offered every semester. Prerequisite: Senior standing.
