This course focuses on the pedagogical content knowledge and instructional and assessment practices that will prepare students to implement research-based reading and writing instruction for students in grades 3-6. Key topics include advanced word recognition, reading fluency and comprehension, vocabulary, and writing. Prerequisites: 2.75 cumulative and 2.5 content GPA; C or better in EDST 3100 and EDST 3101; concurrent enrollment in EDEL 4109, EDEL 4410 and EDEL 3720/EDCI 5250.
