A study of the environmental practices molded in response to best practices, good neighbor policies and government regulations. This course is an introduction to the basic requirements for air quality, water resources protection/preservation, and land use. Other practices intended to preserve and protect the environment will also be explored. There will be a focus on the methods and devices utilized in the various facets of the natural gas and oil industry including exploration, production, mid-stream, transportation, storage and distribution. Students will learn the basics of the legal requirements, the responses expected when challenged with protecting the environment and the consequences of not adhering to laws and regulations. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the right way to protect the environment in various industry situations by developing a protection plan and describing the implementation of the plan.
