This course will cover the economic analysis of the law, including how economics shapes the law, the applications of economic analysis required to apply the law, and the economic analysis of the effects of new laws or regualtions. Students will cover tort law, contracts law, property law, and criminal law each semester. Students choose additional topics that are covered, including intellectual property law, antitrust law, and civil procedure as time permits. Students will engage in research on the topic of their choice and present their findings to the class as a whole.
