Topics include the origins and evolution of the Cold War, and its impact on America's role in international affairs; the influence of the Cold War on American society and politics; the creation and consequences of economic affluence in postwar society; the revolution in race and ethnic relations; changes in the role of women and gender relations; the nationalization of American culture; the shift from liberalism to conservatism.
