This course focuses on the industrial application of mechanical principles including bearings, screws, gears, pulleys, and levers. In the lab students will perform maintenance and repair tasks while analyzing equipment for factors such as speed, force, and torque relationships. Electric motor and drive systems will be emphasized. Additional topics include coupling, alignment, lubrication, and preventative maintenance. Prerequisite: MAPT1110.
