This course will focus on the weldability of stainless steel with the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) process. Topics to be covered will include types of stainless steels, uses and application of stainless steels, matching filler metals to base metals, and how to weld mild steel to stainless steel. Students will practice welding stainless fillet and groove welds on sheet, plate, and pipe/tube in various positions to meet industry standards. Prerequisite: None.
