This course will introduce the student to the fundamental basics of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). Topics will include: GTAW safety, terminology, basic electricity, GTAW equipment and peripherals, electrodes, shielding gases, and various filler metals. Students will work on arc initiation, maintaining an arc, and puddle control while fillet and groove welds on carbon steel in all positions. Prerequisite: None.
