Subject:
Description:
This course will explore various topics concerning women's roles and experiences in politics in the United States, as well as globally. The topics will span both current events and past periods in history. In examining women as political actors we will look at various forms of political participation. We will focus on women's participation in the traditional spheres of what is considered politics -- women as voters, protestors, and politicians, and we will examine more "non-traditional" forms of activism that have sometimes failed to be recognized as political.
