JavaScript is used on most of the pages of a modern website, from small individual sites to the largest commercial sites. JavaScript is the globally used client-side scripting language for the web. Most browsers support the language by default, so students can get started using JavaScript immediately. The JavaScript language is so popular that thousands of developers have made customized libraries that make development even easier for other programmers and web designers. If you design web pages, you'll certainly need to know JavaScript and jQuery to make a custom UI (user interface). This course gets students started with an introduction to JavaScript and assumes no prior experience with this language. This course begins with the basics such as creating functions, creating variables, and calling these lines of code from standard HTML pages. More complex functionality such as arrays and objects and how to script common elements with JavaScript such as forms and tables are covered. Whether you're just getting started in coding and web design or want to learn how to code JavaScript, this course is for you! Students will learn to use JavaScript and jQuery to help them master all of the JavaScript and jQuery skills that every web developer should have.
