Students will learn ventilator classification, methods, principles and operational characteristics of equipment. Students will apply theory and techniques with various equipment involved in the initiation, maintenance, and discontinuation of mechanical ventilation used to manage adult patients. Laboratory experiences will provide a variety of simulations with various equipment to correlate lecture content with practical application. This course will have a lab fee. This course will be offered in the spring semester.
