(3 credits) (Prereq: ARTS*323 or ARTS*421) This course examines a variety of strategies for developing a conceptual focus in ceramics. Emphasis is on individual creative expression within the specificity of the ceramic medium. Clay formulation, glaze calculation, and firing technologies are further explored to help each student effectively utilize ceramic materials in ways to enhance and improve their own aesthetic sensibilities.
