This course concerns the purpose and history of the United Nations, the problems it has faced, and the ways it has adapted over the course of its 80-year existence to resolve these problems. Academic coursework on the United Nations is paired with case studies that illustrate the dynamic between international players, NGOs, and nation-states. Students attend a Model UN competition.
