Develops and enhances students' knowledge and understanding of concepts and techniques of coaching and their application to achieving important objectives while working with athletes. Focuses on motivating players, skill development and progression, creating practice plans and game strategies, and managing team operations and scheduling. Offered intermittently. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to 1. Apply sport strategies and methods using a games approach for teaching technical and tactical skills. 2. Develop and illustrate schedules, tournaments, practice plans and game responsibilities. 3. Demonstrate the ability to design a conditioning program for a selected sport. 4. Understand the principles and issues related to planning, organizing, staffing, fundraising and directing functions that are commonly considered a coachis responsibilities. 5. Demonstrate techniques and the ability to recognize and solve conflict between players, parents, fans and officials.
