An introduction to the structure and notation of music for both the musician and non-musician to increase understanding and application of fundamentals in musicianship found in past and current compositions. Musical notation, pitch, scales, intervals, meter and rhythm, chords, form, and basic harmony will be covered. Students will develop the skills needed to read and write Western music.
