This course will present an introduction to the physical, economic, political, cultural, and demographic characteristics of world regions. Particular emphasis is placed on spatial (geographic) relationships and principles that impact the formation of economies and cultures, on settlement and land use patterns, population distribution, commerce and industry, language, religion, and political alliances.
