This course is designed to prepare students to assign Current Procedural Coding Terminology (CPT) and HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) codes for services provided in a medical office and other outpatient facilities with entry level proficiency. Course topics include CPT and HCPCS Level II coding, and legal and ethical issues related to outpatient coding practices. Prerequisites: HLTH1106, BIOL2260, BIOL2262.
