(Fulfills MNTC Area: 6) Music is part of our daily lives and yet most people don't know how to discuss it. The intent of this introductory course is to give students the tools and the terms to describe what they are hearing when exposed to new music or when describing the music heard every day. This will be done by exploring music experienced in our daily lives through dance, celebrations, or movies. Music will come from Western Art Music, from across the globe, and through American popular music. Prerequisites: None
