In this class the farmer or agri-business person will attain a working knowledge of crop scouting and become familiar with obtaining accurate unbiased crop data and information necessary to develop a sound production strategy as a basis for making sound crop decisions. The crop scouting procedures will be developed using various methods including directed scouting remote sensing techniques along with tradition field scouting methods. Crop scouting information will be used in conjunction with GIS, GPS, and yield data to interpret and analyze crop limiting factor and outcomes derived from previous management and production practices as well as aid in future management decisions.
