This course provides instruction in blood specimen collection skills and procedures. The course addresses safety, legal issues, customer service, professionalism, equipment, venipuncture, skin puncture procedures, and specimen transport/processing. Emphasis is placed on attaining competency in safe blood specimen collection and effective sample processing/handling to preserve specimen integrity as well as on demonstration of effective communication and professional skills to function in a health care setting.
