(Fulfills MNTC Area: 6) This introductory course uses hands-on methods to learn music reading, writing, and analysis. Instruction is designed to develop knowledge of basic music notation and terminology. Knowledge of rhythm, key and time signatures, major and minor scales, and chord structure is demonstrated through class singing and percussion equipment, as well as entry level recorder, guitar, and piano. No performance occurs outside of class and learning is only done for personal enjoyment and class assessment. Prerequisites: None
