This course covers the safety hazards and applications for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) in the welding industry. Material covered will be power sources, setup, types of current, current selection, shielding gases and torch types. Procedures and potential problems welding different metals (Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Mild Steel) will be addressed in this course. Applications for the process in different industries, as well as the use of back purging will be discussed. Welds will be made in the flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. Written and Fundamental tests will be completed in accordance with the American Welding Society (AWS) codes and standards. 3C/1.5/1.5/0
