This course covers the Technician Level information for Vehicle and Machinery Rescue and Water and Ice Rescue as set out in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1670, Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue and NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications. At the completion of this training, students should be capable of hazard recognition, equipment use, and techniques necessary to operate and supervise a vehicle/machinery and water or ice rescue incident. This course will provide students the ability to work most vehicle extrication, and water or ice scenes with an excellent level of confidence. This will be a hands-on course and will be limited in size in order to maintain a safe teaching and working environment. Prerequisites: EMTB1101, FIRE1130, FIRE1165.
