This course gives students an understanding of the principles of biology as they relate to the cellular, organismic, and population levels of organization. Students will learn about the structure, function, and biochemical process of cells. Students will learn about genetics at the cellular level and at the level of gene expression and inheritance. Students will learn about evolution of populations through natural selection and adaptation. Students will learn about vertebrate structure and function, including biomechanics, physiology, and communication and control systems.
