Description:
Learn to travel and recreate responsibly and sustainably on our public lands. Students will learn and teach the principles of Leave No Trace and advance their personal minimum-impact recreation skills through science-based, hands-on learning. Students will engage in discussions around outdoor ethics and develop a deeper understanding of their personal ethics around land use and stewardship. In addition to the practical application of Leave No Trace skills and techniques, every student will hone their teaching style by presenting a lesson and activity on a Leave No Trace topic of their choice. This course will involve lecture/discussions followed by a weekend overnight trip.
